Effect of Process Parameters on Catalytic Incineration of Solvent Emissions
Catalytic oxidation is a feasible and affordable technology for solvent emission abatement. However, finding optimal operation conditions is important, since they are strongly dependent on the application area of VOC incineration. This paper presents the results of the laboratory experiments concerning four most central parameters, that is, effects of concentration, gas hourly space velocity (G...
متن کاملProgress in Municipal Incineration Through Process Engineering
Process engineering is applied to the design of a new I concept of a municipal incinerator. Each of seven incin· eration process areas are analyzed separately and the equivalent process in the chemical and metallurgical industries examined for proven design features applicable to incineration. Examples of integration of designs for process areas are given. Advantages of this new inciner ator c...
متن کاملNanopapers for organic solvent nanofiltration.
Would it not be nice to have an organic solvent nanofiltration membrane made from renewable resources that can be manufactured as simply as producing paper? Here the production of nanofiltration membranes made from nanocellulose by applying a papermaking process is demonstrated. Manufacture of the nanopapers was enabled by inducing flocculation of nanofibrils upon addition of trivalent ions.
متن کاملLaser-induced Field Emission from Tungsten Tip: Optical Control of Emission Sites and Emission Process
Field-emission patterns from a clean tungsten tip apex induced by femtosecond laser pulses have been investigated. Strongly asymmetric field-emission intensity distributions are observed depending on three parameters: (i) the polarization of the light, (ii) the azimuthal, and (iii) the polar orientation of the tip apex relative to the laser incidence direction. In effect, we have realized an ul...
متن کاملSilica gel-mediated organic reactions under organic solvent-free conditions.
Silica gel was found to be an excellent medium for some useful organic transformations under organic solvent-free conditions, such as (1) the Friedel-Crafts-type nitration of arenes using commercial aqueous 69% nitric acid alone at room temperature, (2) one-pot Wittig-type olefination of aldehydes with activated organic halides in the presence of tributyl- or triphenylphosphine and Hunig's base...
